With a passion for natural healing and healthy living, co-owners, Cathryn Aiken, L.Ac. and Dr. Troy Smith, D.C. joined forces in 2010 and opened Arroyo Grande Health and Wellness. In addition to acupuncture and chiropractic care, the center also offers various forms of massage among other things. Here’s a little bit more about the staff.
Cathryn Aiken, L.Ac.
Cathryn has lived on the Central Coast of California for most of her life and currently resides in Nipomo. Acupuncturist by day and “Yogi by night,” Cathryn leads a full and healthy lifestyle. She began her career in the healing arts as a massage therapist from 1998 to 2004, during which time she worked her way through acupuncture college. Cathryn received her Master of Oriental Medicine from the Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine and opened her practice in February of 2005. She maintains a full practice and is co-owner of Arroyo Grande Health & Wellness. She also spends one day a week at the Acupuncture Center of Santa Maria. In her spare time, she enjoys running, spinning, and yoga.
Dr. Troy Smith, D.C.
Dr. Smith graduated from Western States Chiropractic College. He is well versed in low force, instrument, and manual techniques. He enjoys using a wide array of therapies from adjusting to nutrition. Dr. Smith is dedicated to providing professional and efficient office coverage as close as possible to the style and technique of the absent physician. He thoroughly enjoys meeting and working with many different types of patients and is passionate about providing the highest quality of effective and compassionate care. He speaks fluent Spanish and enjoys cycling, surfing, martial arts, basketball, running, and playing guitar.
Katie Baldwin, C.M.T.
Katie Baldwin offers Massage and Craniosacral Therapy. Many of you may already know her and her work with Dr. Smith at AG Health & Wellness, helping to relax tight muscles before his wonderful adjustments! She was inspired to follow her dreams of becoming a Massage Therapist by the intervention of the Universe. She felt complete in many aspects of her life except in work. She loved her job but never felt like she was following her own path. She had an inner calling, and the opportunity arise to take action. She feels so much gratitude to be able to do what she feels she was meant to do. When she’s not doing Massage and CranioSacral Therapy, she loves life here on the Central Coast with her wonderful husband and 16-year-old daughter. She loves to garden, run on the beach, practice Tai Chi and enjoys time with her family in many different outdoor activities. Linda is a certified massage therapist. She was born and raised in Trondheim, Norway, but has been living in California for the last 14 years. She received her massage training at California Holistic Institute in 2012. She truly enjoys working with people and helping them in achieving better physical health.
Holly Yniguez, Office Manager
Holly Yniguez is the office manager. Holly was most recently part of a team at a naturopathic doctors office for three years. She is very passionate about being healthy and is always striving to improve her own health and fitness. She loves hiking, running, and dancing. Holly is fluent in American Sign Language and enjoys being a volunteer in the deaf community. She is very excited to be a part of the AGHW family and looks forward to getting to know all patients personally.
